The voestalpine Rail Technology rail plant in Donawitz has been known for decades for the production of high-tech rails for track construction. The cranes in both long rail warehouses have been operated fully automatically with the help of ABF since the mid-1990s. What was considered pioneering work in automation technology at the time is now being modernized decades later and thus brought up to the latest state of the art. ABF has once again been commissioned to carry out this retrofit by introducing the innovative intralogistics solution.
This retrofit will ensure the process reliability of intralogistics for decades to come and relieve the workload on personnel through extended automation. Commissioning is planned for the end of 2024.
