Decentralized solution for collision warning between heavy-duty transporters and cranes for a slab yard in a large steelworks operation
ABF was awarded the contract as general contractor for the implementation of a collision warning system in the slab hot stacking area at the voestalpine Linz steelworks. The aim was to warn crane and heavy vehicle drivers of possible collisions in a suitable manner, thereby avoiding possible accidents. Another important aspect was the possibility of simple extension (without software changes) to other open areas and halls on the factory premises where the same or similar hazardous situations exist. To meet these requirements, our intralogistics solution OneBase®MFT was introduced with the material tracking and evaluation modules.
